recorded dec 2019 - march 2020, "seas of the tempest" is the 3rd studio album from manikin timeshark. the first album to feature just 2 musicians too- mike hewetson -keys,bass,drums, and martin clayton- guitars. "monolith" begins the album, with a jazzy/funky drive..-this track changes frequently thru it's 4 sections.....ending in an all out crescendo of prog grandeur. "journey" is a full on spacerock symphony, with the middle section dominated by alien like moog leads/mellotron from mike, and golly's guitar runs ...taking us to the finale of the piece....getting sucked into the ginormous black hole....and finaly reaching the other side. "Seas of the tempest" at 32 mins long, is another mega journey of an epic...beginning with a vangelis type spacy ambient intro, then we go into warpdrive ...travelling out into hyperspace with moog/guitar leads ducking n' diving thru the black void..... as the title describes, there are some dark passages throughout the piece...finaly again leading to a grand finale- a grand prog outro to finish the album. As a bonus, also included is the 1st version of "seas of the tempest".....slightly shorter in length, and alot different from the album version.
